4 tricks to save the hula hoop from dropping down
Hello,
you are already doing quite good with waist hooping, but sometimes it keeps dropping down & you simply don’t know what to do there? I’m comming with help! I’ve prepared for you a material about 4 tricks to save the hoop from dropping down.
Watch the video below & if you prefer reading, than skip to the part below the video.
There are few things you can do, when you feel that the spin of your hoop is becoming to go lower & lower:
• PUSH IT STRONGER & GO FASTER
• WIGGLE IT UP WITH YOUR HIP
• HIDE DOWN INTO THE HOOP & LIFT IT UP
• TURN AROUND & PUSH!
Yeah…sounds easy, but not so much when you’r a newbie – I understand it totally. every trick is a new adventure!
Below you can find description for each of this tricks. For some it may seem a little abstract to read instructions for a totally new movement. However through my experience I know that each one of us is different & we differ also in the way we are learning new stuff. So for one person it will be easier to understand it from longer video, for other a short one & for the third one a description would be the best solution. So make yourself comfortable & choose the one that suits you best. (Shorts are available on my YouTube channel, as well as Instagram & Tik Tok feed)
PUSH IT STRONGER & GO FASTER
When you start feeling that the hoop is going lower, try increasing the speed & strength of you movements. Remember, to stay straight, don’t bend to the front, don’t try bouncing on your knees up & down – it will increase the speed…of the fall. Nice, strong, horizontally directed push from your belly button, to the front should do the job.
WIGGLE IT UP WITH YOUR HIP
In a super slow motion it would look like this: when the hoop touches the opposite hip, you lower the other one & once the hoop meets the hip, you lift it up. Yeah I know – slow mo is slow mo & real life is a little more complicated. However for some people it helps to imagine the whole movement step by step. If it is not you, than try simply wiggleing your hips up & down, when the hoop is about to fall down.
HIDE DOWN INTO THE HOOP & LIFT IT UP
The title says it all. When you feel the drop comming, make a little squat, like you would hide yourself down into the spin of your hoop & dynamically lift yourself back up. By attaching the hoop with higher part of your body you ant to create something like an elevator for the spinning hoop.
TURN AROUND & PUSH
What can you know from former points is that the speed can save your hoop from dropping down. So try to use the strength & speed from turning around while waist hooping. When you feel the failure comming give your body a dynamic turn around & push the hoop after comming back to the primary position.
If you are not sure about your waist hooping technique, take a look once again at the tutorial. On the channel you can also find a video about possible mistakes.
Good luck with your trainings & achieving calming stability in your waist hooping. Remember if you need support – I’m here, feel free to contact me or write a comment below, send me a video of you hula hooping with questions, I’ll be happy to help!
