4 ways to pick up the hula hoop from the ground
Hello,
the hoop keeps dropping down? Ofcourse it is! Even when you’re a pro hula hooper. We try new things, we challenge our bodies & our minds. For me it is the beautiful & empowering part of hooping practice, that we are chellenging ourselves in achieving new tricks & techniques. No worries, I have a solution for the dropping hoop. You don’t have to bend down constantly, make squats, etc. Relax & watch the video below, you’ll find 4 techniques in it:
- PRESS & SLIDE MAGIC
- TOES LIFT
- LIFT & PRESS
- FOOT TOSS
So it’s a little like 4 in 1 tutorial.
Now let’s try to put it in written words:
- PRESS & SLIDE MAGIC
When your hoop is already waiting on the ground to be lifted up, you will place your foot on top of it, more less on the height of the base of your toes. While pressing the hoop sensitively, but quite strong towards the ground, you will be sliding it towards yourself.
- TOES LIFT
Now this one is a super simple trick. No need for long explanations – you place the hoop on your toes with the help of the second foot (heel or toes). While having it on the top of your foot, you simply lift it up & catch with your hand. Tadah!
- LIFT & PRESS
Same as in the last one, you will place the hoop on the top of your foot. This time you will press the upper surface of you hoop with the second foot, simultaneously lifting the front part of foot on which your hoop is located. In creating this counter-movement, by pressing and lifting, the opposite side of the hoop lifts up into your hand.
- FOOT TOSS
This one is a super cool trick, which has a lot of extensions, transitions & possibilities. Again, similar beginning – you place the hoop on the upper part of your foot. By performing a pretty fast & decided movement up with the hoop, you will toss it up towards your hand. You’ll have to attach the hoop with your toes a little & toss it up. In the video you can also find a combination of this trick – tossing it up straight on your body.
Enjoy watching & reading.
